How did you get into Pilates?
I was introduced to Pilates whilst studying Physical Therapy, and I initially used Pilates to assist in the management and prevention of a variety of injuries that I treated. I began to see amazing results by combining my Physical Therapy knowledge with the creativity of Pilates principles.
Why is Pilates your passion?
I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals, whether it be to overcome an injury or to hold a longer plank. Pilates allows me to help others improve their biomechanics and quality of movement in a meaningful way. I also love how Pilates creates a mind-body connection, almost like a ‘moving meditation’, which helps to build body awareness.
Why did you become an instructor?
I saw how Pilates helped so many of my injured clients, and I wanted to have that same effect on a wider range of people (injured or not). I also love that teaching Pilates allows me to create genuine connections with my clients. Seeing them improve is the best!
What makes your class special?
The progressiveness of my class is grounded in science. They are creative and dynamic, but you’ll leave feeling like you’ve had individualized attention. I want my classes to feel really approachable for everyone, no matter what your ability is.
Why do you love teaching at NYP?
I did a class at NYP when I first traveled to NY. I instantly resonated with the vibe – the music, the space, and the people. I love how NYP makes Pilates fun and accessible for all people, without compromising the fundamentals of good movement. From the start, it was definitely a team that I wanted to be a part of!
